26/56 review Tomato Fennel Gnocchi Romana from Feb 10, 2012

yummmmmmmmm,
this is what it looks
like when it is plated,
it is delicious,
Once again something
that looks like
this is going to taste
like too much fennel,
but when it is done it
is totally incredible.
 If you try this
you will love it.

This is the process, when you
start to sautee the fennel,
shallots and garlic,
it doesn't seem like much,
then you add the sauvignon
 blanc, heat for one minute,
add the fennel, a little sugar
butter, some salt and pepper
along with home canned
tomatoes and it is hard
to keep your hands off this.
This is more than a broth,
it is a delicious soup
Check out this recipe, it is totally delicious.  It was meant for 6 servings but I have a suspicion that I will finish it by the end of the day.mmmmmmmmm.   The Gnocchi was not too difficult to make, I wasn't sure about it when I started but it delicious at the end of it.  The fennel did not have a fennel flavor, which was a surprise.  I used the heritage tomatoes that had been canned earlier this year, it was delicious with those, nice not to used canned tomatoes.   I would follow that recipe closely to get the flavor it had.   I can't believe I am almost half way through the 56, two more to go.  I am not too interested in the next two because of the cream cheese and pasta aspect, so we will see.
