review French Restaurant L'Auberge Chez Francois

Pre appetizer quiche

Roquefort melted over warmed
apples on a flaky crust/cookie
topped with raspberries, once again,
I believe this is from a penicillum
mold, and in spite of my allergy to
that category of medication, once again
I did NOT go into shock, proven by my
ability to continue this blog

Out of curiosity these
were the "beef cheeks"
I don't think Mssr Le Boef
is smiling now.

"Catch of the Day",
which was the highlight
of the whole meal,
whoops and of course
the unexpected
attention by ........

Fresh lobster salad,
the vanilla infusion
was a little overpowering

Just because......they gave
us an extra dessert, a
fondant cookie shell
filled with chocolate
ice cream, turned up
side down and decorated
with freshly whipped cream,
THIS WAS INCREDIBLE

We ordered the Luncheon Menu, which came with:   a glass of your choice of wine, bread and butter, small preappetizer quiche, an appetizer, light salad, main dish and dessert, coffee and an after dinner treat usually with a liquer.   All for $38.00!  Loved it to say the least, to say the most.......I felt like a celebrity, I can't remember when so many people had bent over backwards, so to speak, to serve me in such a courteous way and with such a beautiful French accent.  OK, I was smitten, they tried to make everything I said worthy of commenting on.   Where are you fron?   I answered.   Oh, we have never had anyone from there before.    The have a contest every month and your can submit a drawing.....of course,  done.......    You are requested to draw something unique over an outline of the the owner's face.     Because I had ordered the "catch of the day", the pirate theme came up.   We'll see if I leave behind a dinner for two for the lovely artist that accompanied me to this lovely place in "the country".
Now this chocolate tart was
incredible
From the inside
Pretty though
I wanted to try the
creme brulee, I
was hoping they would
carmelize the top for
show, they didn't,
it was crusty, a little
burnt the inside was pasty
texture not like the
flan texture I had hoped for.
We had this with coffee
instead of a liquer
