Warm Potato Salad (42) |
The artichokes? not so sure about it. Although I couldn't find the frozen artichokes and had to start with fresh ones, did that make a difference? I am not so sure, because I don't think I will repeat that. The Watercress (actually mixed greens) salad japanese style was great. The warm potato salad, was totally comfort food, great idea to roast the potatoes. 14 more recipes to go!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the things about this journey is trying to find motivation to eat 5 fruits and vegetables and 3 grains daily in a way that.....does NOT result in:
1. Boredom
2. Opposition Behavior
3. Vegetable Loathing
4. Endless Leftovers
Yes you have now seen the obstacles to my attempt to make changes in my eating behavior. The endless excuses are really limited to: I am cooking for one, I don't have time. In reality I have over come the time factor by a certain reality. It is called "Community of One". When you get interested in something and have to be held accountable for your interest by the ones you are with, you (actually I) tend to abandon the effort and move on to something that works. If you are cooking for, living with, others they can observe some of the behaviors such as: not cleaning up your mess, waiting a little too long to take out the trash, piling up your recyclables so you only make one trip a month, and on it goes. Also, some of the self help DVDs involve stepping up to an exercise challenge that involves doing things that could be less than perfect: push ups and burpees and jump rope and.....I hate to say how long the list is.
A friend of mine suggested we all live in community living so we can do all of these things. However, I pointed out I already live in that kind of community, it is a community of one, or a "communo". Friends and family are welcome to join me, I love to be around people, but ..... my self criticism is down to zero:
1. Pain reduced
2. Delicious vegetarian recipes and nonvegetarian recipes which I am sharing with anyone who is interested via this blog
3. Exercise daily in my own imperfect way
4. Movies and Walks which I wouldn't normally do but can share with large communities via the local Meet Ups
5. Travel to family whenever and as often as I can and visiting friends as often as I can whenever I can
6. Treating my work like a family. "Work friends, sisters, aunts, confidants", unfortunately for me some of them leave, retire, get improved lives with the changes. All of that actually is like the "Circle of Life" with is energizing for everyone. Lucky for me almost everyone is willing to share recipes, critique these new tastes from their point of view, so I can continue to compile a set of recipes and instructions that are......incredible.
Thank you everyone, especially the devoted follower I get to see in DC soon, yeaaa.
