USHERS in MOORHEAD

USHERS is on the Red River in Moorhead.  There were two things on the menu that interested me:  The tomato Caprese Salad and the Lenti/Apricot soup.  The soup was spicy so it was hard to appreciate the individual flavors, but it was ok, I had a cup.  The tomato caprese salad was different that what I expected, the tomatoes were partially cooked, which is actually a better source for nutrients that raw, it made the tomatoes sweet tasting, which combined with only a little of the balsamic vinaigrette, freshly cut basil and the fresh mozarella was a good taste, almost sweet enough as a dessert.  The total price came to about ten dollars, not bad.   The others had the turkey and mashed potatoes, Hawaiian sandwich and sweet potato fries, way too many calories for me but they liked it.  Other items on the menu were typical pastas, but there were some items such as scallops (which they said were fresh), and fish, were tempting, but once again....scallops in Fargo and Moorhead, so I will wait to see.

This was a great place after a 4 mile walk.
