RABBIT BAKERY REVIEW LAKE CITY

This little bakery is located in Lake City.  Facing Lake Pepin it offers a casual atmosphere and limited menu.   I had the breakfast sandwich, which was the recommended dish and it was tasty.  I probably would have added a little more green, like a basil leaf, anything to get it to look...well not so Scandanavian...on a white plate.   That would not have made much of a different to the taste, which was ok as a breakfast food.  In general though, being in Lake City on a summer day must be like some form of heaven.  I grew up near the Mississippi but had to make an effort to actually see the river.  So, this little town is all about aquatics:  the water skiing capitol of the nation, tons of sail boats, everyone dressed like they are all on vacation.  I loved it.  I think the way to make it happen though is to know someone.   If you live here it is easy to get into the flow of the situation, otherwise you have to choose from a limited venue of hotels.   The area in general is causal, bike paths, parks, Red Wing is close by.  Bluffs and kind of curving, rolling roads, nothing like Virginia, I have had pointed out to me.  Have had a bit of a time uploading photos.........they will be added soon.
