CAMPING AND COOKING GETTING READY

I found this picture intriguing.  First:  Have they heard of West Nile Virus?  How about the Deer Tick?  This is an invitation to the dreaded mosquito born virus to populate itself in some fresh bodies.  Maybe you are safe from the Deer Tick, but I doubt it.  Believe me, the tent that was lent to me has:  1.  mosquito netting   2.  A small door.  AND I will be inside of that dwelling early morning and at dusk.  PLUS all of my clothing is insect protected.  PLUS my skin will be too.

Of course this is a food blog.  It also is a reminder to be safe with cooking.  Because there will be the possibility of hungry bears, all of my food will be suspended from a tree, unless it is being prepared for eating.  Also, most of the ingredients are dehydrated which, hopefully, will reduce the scent for the bears.  BUT they are wiley creatures.   Kind of like the northern USA version of the Southwest's Wiley Coyote.

FOR NOW
BREAKFAST for 3 mornings (home rolled oats with dried fruit:  cherries and grapes)
Yes I do know that dried grapes are raisins, oh well, already done

SNACKS for 3 days (bars with sesame seeds, chopped almonds, dried fruit, almond butter or peanut butter and honey, baked packed in a cleaned dried out square paper milk carton)
SUPPER for 3 days (paper thin chicken frozen with freezer paper, preseasoned with Zatarians blackening, fish we catch seasoned on site, chicken again; cooked with EVOO), combined with corn cooked with the husk on covered with aluminum foil, or baked in the dutch oven.
