March 2 Sweet & Sour Ham Steaks

SWEET AND SOUR HAM STEAKS MARCH 2

INGREDIENTS
1/2 tsp oil
2 ham steaks (7 to 8 oz each), cut in half
1 bag (16 oz) frozen sliced peaches, thawed, cut bite size
1 jar (9oz) hot or sweet mango chutney
Garnish; chopped cilantro

SIDE Steamed broccoli

DIRECTIONS:
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add ham and cook 4 minutes, turning once, until lightly browned. Remove to aserving platter.

Add peaches and chutney to skillet and cook, stirring, just until hot. Spoon over ham. Garnish with chopped cilantro, if desired.

DIFFERENT TAKES
Stir some curry powder into the chutney ad peach mixture.
Substitute fresh pineapple chunks for the peaches and add some sliced scallions.
When in season, use fresh peaches or nectarines. Then grill the ham and serve the sauce cold as a salsa.
