So it is early morning and you have whole peppercorns and are about to make some great locally grown eggs into a delicious morning breakfast. However, it is the Mediterranean so you must cook with EVOO, to add that pungent Tapas flavor, and somehow add flakes of these peppers. Problem? what do you use for a mortar and pestle, the butt of a paring knife won't do, you could cut yourself, well then you would add a little more protein, the red type, MAYBE that is not ok. (Just to keep me honest....I did try the paring knife, wrapping the blade OUT OF FEAR with a dish towel, and decided on another option, as you will see.) Well it is Barcelona, and what do people do there every day? Drink. Of course, there will be shot glasses, sold by IKEA for the modern man, and GUESS WHAT? They have a broad enough base to CRUSH A PEPPERCORN. Yes, breakfast was delicious.
