THIS HUMMUS RECIPE IS SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE TO MAKE
I used one can of chick peas (87 cents),
about 1/4 cup of tahini butter (2 cups is about $7, so I would say it was 90 cents),
one lime (about 50 cents),
2 or 3 cloves of garlic (5 cents),
EVOO about 4 Tbsp (25 cents),
Tumeric about 1 tsp (2 cents),
paprika a sprinkle (about 1 cent).
About $2.60 to make.
DIRECTIONS:
place garlic in Ninja small processor and pulse
Add Chickpeas and pulse
Add Tahini
Add Lime
Add EVOO
Add Tumeric to turn to bright yellow
Pulse until smooth and creamy, may need to add more lime.
Place in serving dish.
Drizzle with EVOO
Sprinkle with Paprika
Serve with your favorite raw vegetable as a dip.
COMMENTS:
Most of the time was spent rinsing the chickpeas
and taking off the clear kind of peeling around the chickpeas while rinsing.
Time to assembly about 15 minutes.
Prep time 5 minutes.
Total made: about 2 cups. Taste: incredible.
