Lunch at the Local Blend

Check this out for fun
The Local Blend again.  At first I was afraid I was going to write without seeing anyone.   But I got there just in time to see them leave.   My BFF had invited me to the get together, so I was glad to spend a holiday day here.   It was great.    My BFF gave me a gift card for here because of the Holidays and she knows I go here a lot on my travels.     A great budding CHEF let me try a vegan Chocolate Expresso cupcake with coconut frosting (to die for), I wish I had that recipe, but I am sure duplicating it will be fun.

For lunch I had the curried chickpea sandwich (delicate taste, no oil, lettuce was leaf and not soggy or wilted, and the bread was multigrain and soft).  The tomato bisque was also great, not overly salty with large chunks of tomato.  However, as you can see, they give a Saltine cracker with the soup, it had 7 lines of ingredients and also had corn syrup solids, so I don't know why they had that as the filler, I opted for vegetable instead of chips and they had a great dijon mustard dip which I "relished".  (Sorry about that, it was way too tempting.)  The Latte was great, predictably and better because of the pottery.

My BFF had the vegetarian chili, another winner, which has been a standby here since the inception of this little deli/bistro.   Overall great food and wonderful friends.

For those of you looking closely, yes, those are snow flakes, and that white stuff is snow.   So little, making this one of the warmest Decembers that I remember.
