*****NEXT CREATIVE WEEKEND APPLE TURNOVER RECIPE

RECIPE APPLE TURNOVER  (FROM AUDIOBOOK MYSTERY)


INGREDIENTS
1 17.5 ounce pkg frozen puff pastry dough from Pepperidge farm
1 egg
1 Tbsp water
White granulated sugar to sprinkle on top
4 1/2 cored peeled sliced (cut them into 3 pieces) and chopped
(2 large granny smith, 2 large gala or fuji), and place in large mixing bowl
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries or craisens
1 Tbsp Lemon  Juice
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamon
1/4 tsp salt

Thaw puff pastry on floured board
Prep apples add cranberries and sprinkle with 1Tbsp. L.J. to keep from browning
Toss with fingers to moisten
Mix sugar, flour, spices and salt together in a small bowl
Dump on top of apples to coat
Place oven at 400 F, and middle rack

Roll out 1/2 to 12 inch pastry


400 F for 25 minutes and cool on rack.
Break egg into cup and add Tbsp water

One square to cookie sheet, brush with wash.  Place 1/3 cup filling in center and pull 1 square over use fork tine to seat edges and cut 2 slits 1/2 inch long.  Repeat. with each one

To store wrap loosely in waxed paper and reheat.

Sprinkle top
