U as in Ugli Fruit

It grows on an Ugli Fruit tree.

It tastes like a lemon or tangerine and has a lot of Vitamin C.

  

UGLI FRUIT SHERBET RECIPE

3 ugli juiced

1 cup sugar

1 ½ cup water

1 Tbsp. gelatin

¼ cup crème fraiche (1:1 sour cream and heavy cream)

some zest from the ugli

Make syrup with the sugar and water (heat until dissolved) and pour over juice and zest, add the mixture to the crème fraiche and make sure it mixes properly. Soak gelatin and add to mixture. Chill and process in ice crème maker (I use Kitchen Aid brand mixer for ice crème, takes about ½ hour).
