I was driving back home and decided to stop at one of my favorite places to eat and hang out....consistently good food, fun people and easy going atmosphere. The food is prepared from scratch and yummy, unbelievably yummy. Well, today is Sunday, and a great day for comfort food, and their Sunday favorite was there.....yea.............Vegetable Lasagna. I think my attempt to recreate a comfort lasagna with my own recipe was actually from my experience here. Once you've tasted it, you will come back for more. The seasoning is delicate, not overly salted and the vegetables are recognizable: corn and carrots, cooked to perfection. The noodles are soft and instead of a layer of mozarella browned on top, they sprinkle a little coarsely shredded parmesan. The side of toasted bread was just enough and tasty too. Check out the photos. Lasagna and medium latte in locally made pottery all for less that $10.00. For those of you who want to stay away from the overly salted and overly seasoned, this is the place to go. Midwestern and good for you too.
LOCATION: easy to get to off I94 or 23. ATMOSPHERE: college, always bustling filled with young people and profs and locals, music during the week. MENU: reasonable, predictable. TASTE: I keep coming back for more.
