A PERFECT CUP FOR A COFFEE, another day almost a month, and a 5 star breakfast

It's been a month almost since I started posting this blog . I wanted some focus on the stuff that brings us all together instead of the opposite . I have always loved cooking and its counterpart eating ....but haven't always had the opportunity to eat well. When I was in late gradeschool I started a little home run business out of my mom's kitchen. I baked bread and sold it to the neighbors on Sunday mornings I also sold food from our garden ...I loved the stuff I baked , the smells, how happy the neighbors were when I showed up on their doorstep Sunday morning with fresh cinnamon rolls or a newly invented recipe like a loaf of cinnamon swirl bread. Every time I have a success in the kitchen I am reminded of that. I guess that's why I get dissapointed when I end out eating somewhere where it is so obvious that the chef or the restaurant chain doesn't know good food , like applebees. Which has such great listings on the menu.....however.....I understand that we are all trying to make our way in life, and these are only small disappointments, and some people actually don't know how to cook.  I have created some really outragiously bad concoctions, like my soybean pie, when I was in college, wanting to go vegan.   The crust was partially baked, the beans were crunchy and there was no seasoning for the vegetables, even my brother complained, and still talks about how bad it was.   I admit, it was pretty bad and I will not post the recipe nor put that on someone's plate again, mea culpa.  But I enjoyed the experiment, and the honest reflection on that visual and gastronomic disaster.

See the rounded bottom?  Keeps
it warm and topped with nutmeg

See the background,
complements the sandwich
on the lovely pottery plate

Open faced with the
gorgeous cranberries
drizzled on the top
Today I enjoyed cup of coffee in a perfect cup, in a beautiful house, with lovely company and a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich I will attempt to recreate.   The toast was multigrain, the turkey was roasted and free range, the cheese was a gouda cheese, and the cranberry sauce was full berries with only a little sweetness, sugar I believe
