PRIMITIVE COOKING REPRIS den långsamma reprisen

Tomato Based Chowder with Red Quinoa Tabouleh
wonderful meal
From the moment we landed on the small island, an island that looked like a smudge on the larger lake, but large enough to allow for rodent, wolf and bear habitat, I knew I was in paradise.  Of course, paradise to a this Foodie means:  new taste treats, adventures in unexplored culinary adventures, and a lot of great fun with family.  The recipes I posted for the Dutch Oven were explored and tried, crayfish were captured and delicately added to the list of recipes and a southern tasting fish/tomato based chowder were experienced.  The highlights of the weekend included.
Blackened chicken
with Zucchini Cheese Bake
Zucchini bake, the first Dutch Oven attempt, see
how easy the pan is to clean?   Simple, just put in
parchment or oven paper, no need to scrub the pan
afterwards
1.  Tomato based chowder exceeding the subtlety of Lucias tomato vegetable soup....is that even possible.  (Ingredients and directions:  sauteed onions, garlic and green pepper,  dehydrated tomato paste rollup, dehydrated 3 pints of heritage tomato rollup, fresh corn, fresh red potatoes, parsley, dehydrated pepper flakes, chicken broth, a few ounces of freshly caught small mouthed bass.)
2.  A zucchini mozarella bake in the dutch oven.  (Sauteed onion, garlic and green pepper....sound familiar?, chopped potatoes, zucchini, italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste, covered with 12 ounces shredded low fat mozarella cheese, bake in oven until melted and browned on top)
3.  An apple turnover recipe with a delicate taste of cinnamon.  (Sugar and butter carmelized, apples and cinnamon stirred in, prepare batter with egg beaters pour on top, only about 3/8 inch on bottom of pan, bake until brown on top)

"Also rans" included:
Probably the favorite, apple based
turnover with fresh coffee, mmmm
1.  Peach cobbler (home canned peaches, syrup used as liquid for batter, 1 egg beater egg, mix batter and put sliced peaches on top, bake until browned on top)
2.  Sweet rosemary bread  (make from scratch, mix all liquids together and then slowly mix in flour, until stick, knead until starts to show elasticity, then place one small ball in the center, four around it, and nine around that), let rise until doubled and bake until brown on top)
Here's what it looks like plated.
By far the most unusual catch
the most exotic
the most "tales" told by the locals
3.  Potato corn fish chowder with rosemary base  (needs more thickening, perhaps mash potatoes in or use some time of cream base....creamer?  dried milk?, chicken broth, fresh rosemary, garlic and onions etc., corn,  freshly caught fish)
4.  Red quinoa based tabouleh, use fresh lemon and fresh parsely and fresh mint (ok to use dehydrated but fresh is better).
5.  Blackened split chicken breast (freeze after seasoning and until like a brick of ice, so it won't grow bacteria).
6.  Morning freshly rolled oats with dehydrated fruit and fresh coffee.

Scary to you? What do you
think the crayfish thought?

Plated chowder and
